BHIWANI: Debashis Das stunned former National champion P. Konguvel to be part of the six-player leaders' pack after eight rounds of the National challengers chess championship here on Tuesday. After the top board battle between Vikramaditya Kamble and M.R. Venkatesh ended in a draw in 38 moves, Das scored a 57-move victory with black pieces over Konguvel. The results (eighth round): Vikramaditya Kamble (6.5) drew with M. R. Venkatesh (6.5); P. Konguvel (6) lost to Debashis Das (6.5); K. Priyadarshan (5.5) lost to Rahul Sangma (6.5); Akash Thakur (5.5) lost to Vishnu Prasanna (6.5); Arjun Tiwari (5.5) lost to Suvrajit Saha (6.5); Saptarshi Roy (6) drew with Arun Karthik (6); Shashikant Kutwal (6) drew with B. T. Murali Krishnan (6). M.R. Lalith Babu (6) bt Padmini Rout (5); G.A. Stany (5) lost to M. S.
