BANGALORE: Technology-enabled learning is yet to take off in India. However, in a step in this direction and in a bid to enable last-mile access to employability enhancement training, a skills development firm, Indian Institute of Job Training (IIJT) and TeamLease Services, a staffing solutions company, have launched a countrywide VSAT satellite ground station. This infrastructure will enable IIJT to give quality career skills training to all candidates, even those in remote locations, who may have been limited by the lack of access to quality faculty, infrastructure and exposure to industry professionals, a press release said. Currently, 25 of IIJT's centres are VSAT-enabled. IIJT's VSAT facility is being launched with a series of career seminars by professionals from various industries for the benefit of job-seekers and students. Studies showed that many students made career choices without much research or active discussion, the release added.
