Helpline for MSMEs

PANAJI: A Union Government helpline is in the offing to help small industry and enterprises to resolve their queries and provide easy interaction with banks and other industry-related Union Government agencies through a toll-free call.

The Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) will set up an “Udyami Helpline” with toll-free number 1800-180-MSME or 1800-180-6763 across the country to provide easy and ready access to information regarding the various programmes of the Government for MSMEs and to provide interaction with the banks.

The helpline will answer queries relating to the Ministry of MSME, Office of the Development Commissioner MSME, SIDBI, Coir Board, KVIC, etc., provide basic advice on how to set up an enterprise, provisions of the MSME Act, procedures for filing entrepreneurs' memorandum, etc., and also answer individual bank-related queries.

Eventually, an appropriate interface will be established with the banks to ensure that the issues are addressed promptly.
