Awareness programme for fishermen

PUDUKOTTAI: A district-level awareness programme on ‘fisheries related information system' was inaugurated at Manalmelkudi, a coastal village in the district, on Thursday.
Organised by the Village Resource Centre of the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, the programme aims at sensitising fishermen to the information being provided by the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Service (INCOIS).
Elango, National Virtual Academy (NVA) Fellow and S. Surendran, scientist from the Foundation, Chennai, spoke on various information services available to benefit fishermen .
