Ranajit and Ritika in two finals

KOLKATA: Ritika Kundu of South Kolkata and Ranajit Sen of Hooghly will figure in two finals of the Cossimbazar table tennis championship (Stage III), organised by the BTTA, at the SERSA Stadium in Kharagpur.

Ritika moved into the cadet and sub-junior girls' singles finals while Ranajit made it to the cadet and sub-junior boys' singles.

The results: Semifinals:

Boys: N ursery: Sibaji Roy (Hg) bt Ayan Pal (Hg) 11-8, 11-9; Soham Bhattacharya (Hg) bt Pratik Das (Hg) 11-7, 11-7. Cadet: Nilanjan Sarkar (Hg) bt Amar Bauri (PU) 11-5, 11-6, 11-9; Ranajit Sen (Hg) bt Shibaji Roy (Hg) 11-13, 11-9, 11-8, 12-10. Sub-junior: Ranajit bt Subhajit Daripa (PU) 11-4, 9-11, 11-6, 10-12, 11-9, 11-7.

Girls: Nursery: Nivedita Halder (Hg) bt Arena Dutta (Md) 11-6, 11-7; Biswarupa Gupta (Hg) bt Sofia Deb Roy (Hg) 9-11, 11-3, 11-9. Cadet: Ritika Kundu (SK) bt Roopkatha Biswas (Ckd) 11-2, 11-1, 11-6; Monomita Ghatak (Hg) bt Survi Patwari (Sk) 7-11, 11-7, 11-9, 4-11, 11-9. Howrah wins

Howrah Annapurna Bayam Samity bt Narkeldanga Sadharan Samity 4-2 in the senior division women's final of the state league of the WBTTA at Khudiram Stadium. In the junior division, Hind Motor Vivekananda Club bt Behala Sabeda Bagan 4-2.
