Introduce more luxury buses

Coimbatore: The Kovai Nadar Sangham has asked the State Government to induct modern and luxury buses on long distance routes especially to Southern districts.

Resolution

A resolution was passed at a recent general body meeting of the Sangham.

The existing buses are very old and passengers are put to hardship.

The meeting asked the authorities to speed up the introduction of the Coimbatore – Tiruchendur and Coimbatore – Thoothukudi train services besides speeding up the Coimbatore – Dindigul gauge conversion works.

The meeting asked the Government to include the community in the backward classes list.

Toddy should be removed from the list of liquors. Corporation's public conveniences should be modernised and hygienic.

Power tariff

The association wanted Cross Cut Road named after Kamaraj. Small merchants should be given power tariff concession.
