Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment D. Napoleon launching the Forum for Creativity in Social Reconstruction at Sasi Creative School of Business in Coimbatore on Friday. COIMBATORE: Going to the West and settling down there for one's own benefit is not a great thing. On the other hand, learning what the West has to offer and recreating the same in our own country is what real social reconstruction is all about, D. Napoleon, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, said here on Friday. He was inaugurating a Forum for “Creativity in Social Reconstruction” at Sasi Creative School of Business at Myleripalayam, near here. Referring to the various social activities of the Chief Minister, Mr. Napoleon said that though Mr. Karunanidhi had not studied management, he was able to think and execute constructive projects for the welfare of the people of the State. “Even the Ministers are all not management gurus, but we try to do our bit for society, in the form of reconstruction. Students who earn specialised degrees must be in a position to do better for society in terms of rebuilding and renovation,” the Minister said. “Learning is the best investment one can make in life. That is the only asset that nobody can take away from you. Everything else can be snatched away from you. Hence, make best use of it to enable it give best results to the community,” he added. He asked the Indian institutions to emulate those in the West which had special provisions for the physically challenged and those with other disabilities. The theme and activities of the forum was presented by V.K. Jagannathan, Dean, Sasi Creative School of Business. A sapling was planted by Mr. Napoleon. Rajdeepan Swaminathan, Chairman and Managing Trustee, R. Swaminathan, Founder Trustee, of the school, and K. Mohan, Senior Director, Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, offered felicitations.
