COIMBATORE: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Anshul Mishra said on Friday that he had decided to withdraw the show-cause notice served on Communist Party of India councillor and Chairman of the Corporation Council's Standing Committee on Education, Parks and Playgrounds R. Kalyanasundaram. The notice was served on Mr. Kalayanasundaram asking him to explain why action should not be initiated against him for going against the rules of the Corporation. The charge against Mr. Kalyanasundaram was that he carried out inspection of Corporation projects without informing the officials. The contention was that he could not carry out unilateral inspections because he was a representative of the Corporation administration in his capacity as the committee head. The Commissioner said that Mr. Kalyanasundaram had replied to the notice, asking that it be withdrawn. At the same time, he also wanted close co-ordination between the administration and elected representatives in the implementation of projects. Working in opposite directions would not be in the interest of the civic body. “Therefore, I have decided to withdraw the notice,” the Commissioner said.
