HYDERABAD: Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) won the CBIT Inter-engineering college cricket tournament with a seven-wicket win over CBIT in the final here. The scores: Final: CBIT 98 for seven (Harsha 51, Sandeep four for 38) lost to MGIT 101 for three in 17 overs (Sandeep 60). Semifinals: CBIT 64 for six bt BIET 60; MGIT 101 for three bt MJCET 55 for seven . St. Ann's bags ‘double' St. Ann's College for Women, Mehdipatnam, won the OU Inter-college carom title defeating Kasturba Gandhi College 2-1 in the final. In the Hyderabad District inter-junior college tournament, St. Ann's defeated Villay Marie College 2-0 in the final. The results: Carrom: Final: St. Ann's College bt Kasturba College 2-1 (Christina bt Swathi Kasturba 25-19; Charanjit lost to Swetha 19-25; Ayesha & Sadia bt Christina & Swetha 25-16). 3rd place: Govt. Degree College, Begumpet, bt Vanitha Mahavidyalaya 2-1. Badminton: Final: St. Ann's College bt Villa Marie College 2-0 . Anwar-ul-Uloom in final Anwar-ul-Uloom College scored a 3-1 win over Nizam College in the semifinal of the OU Inter-college football tournament here. For the winners, Murtuza netted a brace and Fahad one goal while for the losers Fahad reduced the margin. The results: Quarterfinals: Bhavan's College bt St. Mary's College 2-0; Anwar-ul-Uloom bt Loyala Academy 2-0; AV College bt IAMC 3-0; Nizam College bt MJ College 3-0 . Maqsusi slams ton A century by S.M. Maqsusi (130) for Nizam College was the highlight of the A-Division (two-day) league cricket championship here today. The scores: A-Division two-day league: Raju CC 134 for six (Shiv 40, Abhinav 30, Musatafa Hussain Mallik four for 65) vs Falaknuma.
