SIC for probe into attack on RTI applicant

HYDERABAD: The State Information Commission (SIC) has taken serious view of a media report about attack on an applicant who sought information under Right to Information Act.
The applicant M. Venkateswarulu of Markapuram in Prakasam district also lodged a complaint with the Information Commission about the attack on him on Thursday night by some miscreants.
The Commission directed the Prakasam District Collector and Superintendent of Police to inquire into the issue and submit a report within five days.
The Commission also responded to a representation submitted by one applicant V. Venkataswami of Kagaznagar seeking protection. It directed the Adilabad Superintendent of Police to take necessary action.
