Kanhaiya Lal Nandan dies

New Delhi: Eminent Hindi writer-journalist Kanhaiya Lal Nandan died at a hospital here on Saturday morning.

Nandan, 77, was admitted to the private hospital on Wednesday evening after he complained of low blood pressure and breathlessness. He was on dialysis for quite some time.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Honoured with Padma Shri and Bharatendu Award, Nandan served as editor of the prestigious Parag, Sarika and Dinman magazines. He had also worked as features editor of Navbharat Times.

Author of more than three dozen books, Nandan was also known as a poet and lyricist. His major works include Ghat Ghat Ka Pani, Aag Ke Rang and Guzra Kaha Kaha Se.

Cremation will take place on Sunday.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president J.P. Agarwal expressed his deep sorrow at the death of Kanhaiya Lal Nandan.
