Officials told to start all sanctioned works

VIZIANAGARAM: Lok Sabha member Botcha Jhansi Lakshmi has asked officials to ground all the works that were sanctioned under parliamentary constituency development grants.

At a review meeting on Friday evening on the sanction of works between 2006-07 and 2010-11, she asked them to submit utilisation certificates for the works already completed with the grants released. She said 83 works out of 89 sanctioned in 2006-07; 233 works out of 265 in 2007-08 (25 in progress and seven were yet to start); 317 works out of 329 in 2008-09 (10 in progress and two were not grounded); 162 works out of 207 in 2009-10 (22 works in progress and 23 yet to be grounded) and 74 works out of 167 (43 works were in progress) sanctioned in 2010-11 were completed. She asked them to complete the works in a time frame.

Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah said unutilised funds must be returned to the CPO and photograph the completed works. Chief Planning Officer Ramana Murty, District Revenue Officer Y. Narasimha Rao and others were present
