TIRUCHI: A ‘Run for Health' was organised by the Territorial Army (TA) authorities as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the 117 Infantry Battalion (TA) The Guards here on Sunday. Around 1,200 students from various schools and a section of general public took part in the three-kilometre run that was inaugurated by State Transport Minister K.N. Nehru in front of the unit . District Collector T. Soundiah, Commanding Officer, 117 Infantry Battalion (TA) The Guards, Tiruchi Colonel K. Haridas and others were present . The run culminated on the unit premises after passing through the Corporation office and Cantonment area. The aim was to create awareness among the public of good health and maintaining physical fitness. Colonel Haridas said mementos were given to those schools whose students took part. Certificates would be distributed to each student participant, he added.
