THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: National Aviation Company of India Ltd. (NACIL) has entered into an agreement with Ramco Systems Ltd., an aviation software solutions company. With this, Air India will soon bring all areas of functioning of its Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility on to a common IT platform, with the objective of increasing aircraft availability, reducing inventory, ensuring quicker turnaround times and bringing cost-effectiveness. The software will help automate the business processes of line and heavy maintenance, component and engine maintenance, quality assurance, production, planning and control, material procurement, inventory, payments and accounting functions, among others. According to NACIL, the software will also help increase productivity of all resources. This will also enable the airline to improve its revenue earning through more third-party MRO jobs.
