Security personnel stationed in all sensitive places Four additional sector magistrates in Bhatkal
Karwar: Uttara Kannada district administration has made elaborate arrangements in view of the judgment in Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit on Thursday.
The police have deployed security personnel in all sensitive places, including Bhatkal.
The Deputy Commissioner has appointed four additional sector magistrates in Bhatkal taluk, while an executive officer has been appointed in Kumta to meet any eventuality.
The Deputy Commissioner has ordered that the sector magistrate should use discretionary powers of a taluk magistrate. Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code has been imposed in the district till Saturday.
Schools and colleges in the district will remain closed till Sunday.
The district administration has ordered the closure of all bars and arrack and wine shops till 10 p.m. on October 1.
Transportation or selling of wine and liquor have been banned during this period.
