KOLLAM: The Amritanandamayi Math, at Amritapuri near here, is all prepared to start work on constructing toilets and installing trash cans in government schools and along the roads. Announcing this on Wednesday, Mata Amritanandamayi said the programme was part of the environment conservation efforts by the Math. It was informed that government schools lacking in toilet facilities could apply to the Math to become a beneficiary under the programme. The application should be accompanied with a no-objection certificate from the government. Government's permission was also needed for the construction of toilets along the roads. The Math is considering steps to install trash cans every two km along the roads. Campaigns would be undertaken to keep the roads clean and litter-free.
