BHUBANESWAR: The Orissa government on Wednesday sounded an alert across the State and directed the district administrations to remain alert ahead of the pronouncement of the Allahabad High Court judgment on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute on Thursday. Secretary of the State government's Home Department U.N. Behera told presspersons that the District Collectors and Superintendents of Police had been asked to stay alert to maintain peace in case of any eventuality. The administration had been put on high alert in the districts of Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Bhadrak to thwart any trouble, according to sources. Measures have also been taken to deploy adequate number of security personnel in communally-sensitive areas in different parts of the State. Meanwhile, different political parties also appealed to the people at large to respect the court verdict and maintain peace and communal harmony.
