Students seek release of scholarships

MYSORE: Members of the All-India Democratic Students' Organisation staged a protest here on Wednesday demanding the immediate release of scholarships for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students for 2009-10.

The students demanded that the opening of bank accounts not be made compulsory for students to avail themselves of the scholarships. They also sought an immediate refund of Rs. 200 to those holding bus passes, following the decision on the reduction of the pass fare.
