Ravindra rides high

BANGALORE: M.S. Ravindra of Bangalore swept the Maruti Suzuki ‘King of The Hills Race' held at Nandi Hills, 30 kms from here, on Wednesday. Ravindra topped in four categories. The Hill Climb, evoked an enthusiastic response as over 120 riders participated in 14 different categories of hill climb and the contestants drove up 1.7 km through curves, twists and turns up Nandi Hills, navigating seven steep hair pin bends.

M.S. Ravindra, who had won Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare in June earlier this year, was also adjudged the fastest rider of the day when he lifted the Indian Open category with a timing of 1.24.09 mins.

He clocked 1.30.94 mins in the 80-130cc 2-stroke categories and zipped the 80-130cc 4-stroke with a timing of 1.41.92 mins. He also won the 130-160cc 2-stroke category with a timing of 1.24.77 mins.

Priyamvada wins

In the Ladies class, Priyamvada won with a timing of 1.52.34 minutes while Reshma came second clocking 2.19.97 minutes. Gautham won the scooters category with a timing of 1.41.25 minutes while Varun won the BSA Bond class with 2.14.34 mins and Nitesh clocked 1.41.26 to take home the bullet class trophy.

In 2-stroke bikes category, Babu won the 160-250cc with a timing of 1.50.91 mins, while Zameer topped the 260-350cc clocking 1.43.97 mins. In the 4-stroke 130-160cc category, Sharath won with a timing of 1.24.78 mins while in 160-250cc it was Raja who took the title clocking 1.36.39.

The four wheeler event, which was schedule to be held on Thursday, has been postponed to October.5, according to Jaidas Menon of Southern Motorsport, the organiser of the meet. — Special Correspondent
