KCBC announces drama awards

KOCHI: ‘Madhuramee Jeevitham,' a play presented by Pala Communications, has won the first prize in the all-Kerala professional drama competition organised by the KCBC Media Commission here from September 19 to 30.

‘Ammavalsalyam' by Oachira Natakarangam won the second prize, said a press release here on Friday.

The other awards went to Cherunniyoor Jayaprasad (best script – ‘Ivide Ashokanumjeevichirunnu' by Sahithi Theatres, Thiruvanant hapuram); Pradeep Roy (best director – ‘Bhoomiyile Naksh atrangal' by Amala Communications, Kanjirapally); Aleppey Vivekanandan (best music director – ‘Ammavalsalyam' and ‘Amaragadha').

Best actor

The best actor award went to C.S. Venu (‘Ivide Ashokanumjeevichirunnu'); Anitha C. Manikantan (best female actor – ‘Madhuramee Jeevitham'); Athirunkal Subhash best (second best actor – ‘Panchanakshatra Swapnam'), and Valsa Ravi (second best female actor – ‘Bhoomiyile Nakshatrangal').

The awards will be distributed at a function to be held at P.O.C. Auditorium, Palarivattom, on November 14.
