COIMBATORE: The Chamber Show is back in Coimbatore, for the seventh year, at Sri Ramakrishna Kalyana Mandapam till October 3.

The event, organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, attempts to exhibit the products of Coimbatore – ranging from sarees, and T-shirts to edible oil and juices. Apart from the regular participants and the new products they have displayed, the special attraction at the event this year is the pavilion for electronic goods – television sets, laptops, computers, washing machines, microwave ovens, and refrigerators. As many as six main brands occupy space at this pavilion. “The show will certainly see beyond window shopping. Many consumers are expected to make purchases,” said one of the organisers.

According to V. Lakshmi Narayanaswami, Chairman of Chamber Show 2010, the exhibition has 59 stalls for household products, the electronic pavilion and the food court. The food court has vegetarian and non-vegetarian food and chaat counters.

The highlights of the event this year are: the electronic pavilion, stalls by the companies to directly market their latest products and an advantage for the consumer to know the new products in the market, compare prices and offers. Cars, scooters, investment products, textiles, solar products, bags, too are on display.

Special programmes will be organised on October 2 and 3. Thamizhachi Thangapandian and Parveen Sulthana will speak at “Aaniver” on October 2, and actor S. Karthi, Dr. S. Raja Sabapathy of Ganga Hospital, K. R. Nagarajan, Founder and Chairman of Ramraj Group and Saidai SA Duraisamy, Chairman of Manidha Neyam Free IAS Academy will participate in “Vetriyin Panmugangal” to be held on October 3. A fancy dress competition will be held on October 2 and oratorical contest on October 3 for students. The exhibition is open from 10.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.
