KARUR: Fans of tinsel world superstar Rajnikanth were deeply dismayed that the much-awaited film “Endhiran” was not premiered in any of the cinemas in the town on its worldwide release on Friday. The fans got to know that their hero's film may not see the light of day in Karur theatres on Thursday itself and groups of worried fans stared down the possibility with heartbreak. Rajni fans even toyed with the idea of staging a protest on Thursday but the police sternly cautioned them not to indulge in any stir as the town was already tense awaiting the Ayodhya verdict. “We hear that disagreement between distributors and exhibitiors of the film in theatres in Karur town has come in the way of screening the film on Friday. Fans have been deprived of thrill and expectation of viewing the Rajini starrer,” pointed out disappointed fans near the fan association office here. Local fans pondered over the idea of going to neighbouring districts to view the film despite the heavily-priced tickets open for sale. But many said that the availability of tickets was a big question as those areas had to cater to their own local fans and accommodating all fans from Karur was out of thought, they tried to pacify themselves. In Thanjavur, the movie was released in six theatres . It was celebration time for the fans.
