Orthopaedists asked to update knowledge

Manipal: H.S. Ballal, Pro-Chancellor of Manipal University, said on Friday that orthopaedists should always keep updating their knowledge.

He was speaking after inaugurating the three-day continuing medical education (CME) programme for orthopaedics ‘CME-Ortho 2010' organised by the Department of Orthopaedics of Kasturba Medical College here.

Prof. Ballal said that learning was a continuous process. Workshops and seminars helped doctors keep themselves abreast of the latest developments in their fields of specialisation. M. Shantaram Shetty, Vice-Chancellor of Nitte University, spoke. The former head of the Department of Orthopaedics Varghese Chacko was felicitated.
