ADILABAD: Congress candidate Chipurushetti Shankar won the Kagaznagar Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency byelection defeating Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) Gajji Lingam by 2,105 votes. While the winner got 6,997 votes, Lingam polled 4,892 and Mehraj, an Independent, bagged 1,458 votes. The counting of votes was held at Kagaznagar MPDO Office on Friday. The byelection held on September 29 was necessitated due to the resignation of Congress party's Gajji Ramaiah who was appointed Kagaznagar Market Committee chairman. The Telangana Rashtra Samiti did not field a candidate. TRS wins 2 MPTCs Sangareddy Staff Reporter writes: TRS wrested the two MPTC seats, elections to which were held last month. The two seats are Rajakkapet in Dubbak mandal and Degulwadi in Kangti mandal. At Degulwadi, where the party presence was nominal, the TRS candidate M. Ganapathi won over Congress candidate Peeramma with over 221 majority votes. At Rajakkapet in Dubbak mandal, the TRS official candidate Rajam Budavva won by 126 votes over her rival Pothula Lakshmi, an independent candidate.
