Probe sought into ‘suicide' by ST hostel inmate

Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI: Girijana Vidyarthi Samakhya and Sanghamithra Service Society (SSS) have demanded action against those who were responsible for the suicide by Annapurna, an inmate of a Government-run Hostel for the S.T. Girl Students at Chittoor on Saturday.

The girl, a class X student had reportedly hung herself to death in the hostel premises reportedly unable to withstand her disappointment over the hostel authorities allegedly refusing permission to the inmates to go home even for Dasara holidays on the plea that they would be conducting special classes during the holidays.

V. Sankar Nayak, GVS founder-president and S. Viswanath, Director of the SSS have in their statement strongly condemned the attitude of the hostel authorities.
