Millennium moment:Women dressed as militia at a parade held in Hanoi on Sunday. The parade was part of a ceremony to cap Hanoi's millennium celebrations. King Ly Thai To moved the capital of Vietnam to Hanoi in 1010 and called it Thang Long, or “soaring dragon”, symbolising the desire for independence after a millennium of Chinese domination.
