Action will be taken on the petitions on a priority basis
NEW FACILITY:Collector C.N. Maheswaran launching ‘helpline' in Tuticorin on Monday. Tuticorin: Thanks to efforts by Collector C.N. Maheswaran, a novel system, helpline, has been launched in the district on Monday to redress grievances of the public. The Collector, who assumed office only on October 7, said that the new mechanism would certainly help the public in finding a solution to their grievances. People could represent their grievances either through telephone by dialling the helpline numbers 0461 2340012 or by sending an SMS to 89034 40012. They could also lodge their petitions through email to collrtuthelpline@gmail.com. The facility would be manned by two persons from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Action will be taken on the petitions on a priority basis. The functioning of the new facility would be monitored periodically. The Collector also said that since Tuticorin will experience north-east monsoon from the middle of October to November-end, officials had been instructed to take proper precautions. Steps would be taken to clear blockage in drainage channels since stagnant water would cause health hazard, he said.
