Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: A gang armed with deadly weapons attacked a couple at their house in Guindy on Sunday morning. The victims are admitted to a hospital and are said to be out of danger. Sources with the Guindy police said the attack took place around 7.45 a.m. when Bose (55) and his wife Bhagyam (50) were at their residence on Gandhi Street in Kamarajapuram. Four men came in a car and attacked the couple with sickles and knives and fled. Neighbours who came to the aid of the victims, took them to the Government General Hospital where they are undergoing treatment, police added. Police sources said the couple were the parents-in-law of a TNEB official who was murdered near Tiruvallur in July. A woman head constable attached to Vadapalani AWPS is among those arrested in connection with the murder. The couple are the complainants in the case, sources added.
