dated October 21, 1960: Gold rush in London

Bullion dealers declared that the London gold market had never known such conditions and called it “phenomenal,” “fantastic” and “terrific”. One dealer said the great scramble began earlier this week when Swiss bankers advised their customers to change American dollars into gold.
