Remain united and emerge victorious: Karunanidhi

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Wednesday called upon party members to remain united and emerge victorious in the Assembly elections.

Referring to the challenges before the party on the eve of the polls, Mr. Karunanidhi said, “If we are united, not just one AIADMK but even 1,000 AIADMKs cannot vanquish us.”

He was addressing office-bearers of the DMK Ramanathapuram district unit after chairing a three-hour-long discussion as part of the poll preparations. Noting there were complaints against a Minister and some functionaries of the party in the district, he said there was no accusation of violation of party discipline or ideology.

Among those who attended the meeting were K. Anbazhagan, general secretary and Finance Minister; M.K. Stalin, treasurer and Deputy Chief Minister; M.K. Alagiri, organising secretary for southern region and Union Minister; Durai Murugan, deputy general secretary; and Arcot N. Veeraswami, principal secretary.
