Additional designated officers appointed

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Principals of government colleges, block development officers, municipal commissioners and tahsildars (not designated earlier) have been appointed additional designated officers in connection with the enrolment for the constituencies of graduates in the Legislative Council.

They have been authorised to verify degree certificates of applicants, who have to provide their applications in Form 18 along with a copy each of their degree certificates or marksheets duly self-attested and authenticated by any of the additional designated officers, according to an official release on Wednesday.

On authentication, the applicants could submit their documents to Electoral Registration Officers/Assistant EROs.

There would be no need for the applicants to produce their certificates in original before the Designated Officers for verification, the release added.
