Kasaragod: The Folkland, International Centre for Folklore and Culture at Elambachi in the district, has received accreditation from UNESCO to provide advisory services to the Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee.
A letter received recently by V. Jayarajan, chairman of The Folkland from Cicile Duvelle, Secretary, Convention for Safeguarding the Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee, said the organisation had acceded his request for accreditation to provide advisory services to the Intangible Heritage Committee.
“I have the pleasure to inform you that the General Assembly of the States Parties to the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, during its third session in Paris from June 22 to 24, 2010, accredited 97 NGOs to provide advisory services to the Committee, among which is yours,” the official said in the letter.
