Suggestions box at Passport Office

Coimbatore: Coimbatore Passport Office is installing a complaints and suggestion box near the entrance.

Passport Officer – Coimbatore, S. Sasikumar told The Hindu that the passport applicants not being able to meet the appropriate authorities could drop in their complaints relating to delay in despatch of passports and suggestions on how the functioning of the office could be made applicant-friendly.

The keys of the box would be with the Passport Officer and every day around 2 p.m., the box would be opened in the presence of the passport officer and the letters would be taken up for scrutiny. Follow up action on the same would be initiated.

Mr.Sasikumar said that public could always send in e-mails to rpo.cbe @mea.gov.in regarding their complaints and suggestions.

The mails are checked every day and due action would be initiated.

Mr.Sasikumar also asked the applicants to use the SMS alert facility for checking the status.

The applicants would have to type STAT and mentioned the file number and send the SMS to 94426-33100.
