Power supply disrupted after transformer snag
Staff Reporter
MADURAI: Power supply was disrupted in some parts of the city in the evening hours between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday owing to technical problems in a Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) sub-station.
According to officials, one of the two transformers at the 33/11 KV Pudur sub-station developed a problem resulting in an unscheduled load shedding. This sub-station served areas such as DRO Colony, Bibikulam, Tallakulam, Chokkikulam, Narimedu and Kattupillaiyar Koil.
Officials said that the Meter Relay Test Wing of the TNEB Madurai Metro Circle acted quickly to get the transformer back on track.
