Hasan stars in Hyderabad win

HYDERABAD: A fine spell by left-arm spinner Mehdi Hasan (five for 34) helped Hyderabad record an innings and 105 runs against Goa in the South Zone C.K. Nayudu Trophy cricket tournament (under-22) at NFC Grounds here on Thursday.

The scores: Goa 164 & 223 (V. Naik 47, N. Pawaskar 41, Keenan Vaz 77, Mehdi Hasan five for 34) lost to Hyderabad 492 for seven decl .

Vijay hits ton

A century by Vijay (110) helped Gemini Friends record an eight-wicket win over Team Speed in the A-Division(two-day) league cricket championship match here on Thursday.

The scores: A-Division (two-day) league: Saleemnagar 302 (Jaffer Baakra 85, Imad Ghori 54, Imran Ansari 55, Pravez Khan five for 58) bt Vijay Hanuman 114 (Harshavardhan 33, Shaik Nazeer Ahmed five for 37, Shahid three for 20).

Team Speed 260 lost to Gemini Friends 261 for two (Abdul Shakeel 58,Vijay 110, Prasad 70 ).

Rushi Raj to lead

D. Rushi Raj will lead Osmania University in the South Zone inter-university tournament to be held in Warangal next week.
