Chief Minister to lay foundation for construction academy

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi will lay the foundation stone for Tamil Nadu Academy for Construction on October 30, said Labour Minister T.M. Anbarasan, on Friday.
Participating in a review meeting organised by the representatives of Construction and other unorganised sector workers in the State, he said that 25 acres of land has been identified in Chengalpattu within the ITI campus for establishing Tamil Nadu Academy for Construction.
At the meeting it was resolved to conduct a thanks-giving meeting for the Chief Minister on October 30 at Nehru Indoor Stadium for extending the Health Insurance Scheme to construction workers and other unorganised workers without prior conditions.
On October 30, the Chief Minister will announce the welfare schemes for them.
Tamil Nadu Construction Workers Welfare Board chairman Pon. Kumar and others attended the meeting.
