Bonalu offered to village deities

Munnurukapu community members thank gods for high yield of crop

Thanksgiving: People belonging to Munnurukapu community offering ‘Bonalu' to village deities in Nizamabad on Sunday.

NIZAMABAD: People belonging to Munnurukapu community in the town offered bonalu (pots containing cooked food) to village Gods and Goddesses at Patigalli, Vinayaknagar, Pochammagalli, Gajulpet, Dubba, Yellammagutta and Kotagalli on Sunday.

The community people offer bonalu every year between Dasara and Deepavali, at the time of paddy harvest, to thank the Goddesses for high yield of crop and health and wealth of their families. The bonalu were given to Potha Linganna, Nalla Pochamma, Pedda Pochamma, five hands Pochamma, Mathadi Pochamma and Mahalakshmi.
