TIRUCHI: The Government Boys HSS at Musiri in Tiruchi district recently observed Global Hand Washing Day to create awareness of the importance of washing hands with soap. C.Krishnamurthy, Headmaster, who presided over the function organised by the school's consumer council, said that Global hand washing day was a campaign to motivate and mobilise millions around the world to wash their hands with soap. He said that campaign was dedicated to raising awareness of hand washing with soap as a key approach to disease prevention. The Global Hand washing Day took place for the first time on October 15, 2008, the date appointed by UN General . S.Nagesh, Assistant Headmaster of the school and also secretary of Musiri taluk Red Cross Society and Musiri educational district convenor of Junior Red Cross, explained in detail about the importance of hand washing with soap. K.Rajendran, coordinator of consumer council of the school, Chandrasekaran, Ramasamy and S.Nagesh, Assistant headmasters of the school and others spoke.
