CHENNAI: Godrej Interio, a division of Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Co., is considering to set up manufacturing units in the South, according to K. M. Vinod Kumar, Chief General Manager, South. Addressing media persons here on Tuesday, he said the company was looking at south and it would invest Rs.40 crore if the project fructified. Mr. Kumar said the franchisee network was being expanded besides introducing products with additional features. The company would introduce more products with ‘embedded technology' in the next 12 months. Godrej Interio was taking initiatives with the inclusion of induction heater on the dining table. Additional facilities such as sensors would be fitted with sofas/chairs that would enable customers to feel comfortable. The ‘flute bedroom set', priced at Rs.2 lakh had evoked good response. So far, the company sold 25 sets in different markets. It would continue to focus on Tier-I and Tier-II cities. He said the company was targeting a turnover of Rs.1,300 crore by 2010-11. Mr. Kumar said Godrej Interio was conducting a game show and a slogan contest in south that would lure customers.
