Mumbai: Authorities have confiscated bulk drug formulations worth Rs.80 lakh imported from unregistered sources in China by local firms, an official said on Tuesday. The formulations were seized during raids conducted by the office of the Deputy Drugs Controller (DDC) on Monday at offices and godowns of two pharma firms. “Raids were conducted on the basis of a tip-off that Sarvodaya Enterprises and Sidhambika Pharma Pvt Ltd were importing drugs without registration and licence from unregistered sources in China in violation of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act,” Deputy Drugs Controller R Ramakrishna said in a release. Both firms have their offices in suburban Vile Parle and share a godown at Bhiwandi in Thane district.
