Light showers in several parts of city

CHENNAI: Several parts of the city experienced light showers on Tuesday owing to a trough of low pressure over west central Bay of Bengal and the Gulf of Mannar.

Residents of various areas, including Egmore, Periamet and Chetpet, said the streets were inundated as it rained for about an hour in the afternoon.
