HARIDWAR: Pune's Mandeep clocked 1:58.07 minutes in the 800m for boys' under-16 to set the meet mark on the opening day of the 8th National inter-district athletics championship here on Wednesday. Mandeep shattered the six-year-old record of 2:00.55 that stood in the name of Ajit Kumar (Meerut). Second placed Suresh Kumar and third placed Rakesh Sharma also came inside the previous record. The results: Boys: Under-16: 800m: 1. Mandeep (Pune) 1:58.07 (NMR, old 2:01.56, 2004); 2. Suresh Kumar (Haridwar) 1:59.26; 3. Rakesh Sharma (Pune) 2:00.55. Girls: Under-16: Javelin: 1. Poonam (Jhajjar) 28.60m; 2. Mamta (Bhatinda) 27.11m; 3. Nisha Yadav (Meerut) 25.09m; Under-14: High jump: 1. Tumla Bouri (Manbhum) 1.35m; 2. Susmita Mallick (Siliguri) 1.33m; 3.
