Polls notified

RANCHI: The panchayat poll nominations would start on Thursday, as declared on Wednesday in the notification for the polls in Jharkhand. The polls will be conducted in five phases for 303 panchyats, 2,958 wards and 29 zilla parishads across the State. Deputy Commissioner Kamal Kishore Soan said the elections would be held on the basis of the voters' list till September 15.

In the first phase, polling will be held at 627 booths while in the second phase it will take place at 497 booths.

For the third and fourth phases, the numbers will be 653 and 617 respectively. And finally 564 booths will be covered for polling in the last phase.
