It will be held on the premises of JKC College from January 10 to 12 Brochure of the conference sent to various institutions across the country Guntur: The 55th All India English Teachers' Conference (AIETC) will be held on the premises of JKC College here from January 10 to 12, said N. Nageswara Rao, local organising secretary. The theme of the conference is ‘Indian literatures in English translation'. English translations from regional languages of India will be critiqued by eminent professors. C.R. Visweswara Rao, Vice-Chancellor of Vikrama Simhapuri University, Nellore, will be the president of the conference. Former Vice-Chancellor of Nannya University, K Nirupa Rani, M. Murali of Central University, Puducherry, former professor K. Venkata Reddy, and professor Srivastava would be attending the conference. A brochure of the conference has been sent to various institutions across the country. More information is provided on the website - www.jkcc.ac.in The theme of the conference broadly encompasses Indian literatures in English translation, says the organising committee. Separate sessions will be held on Indian English literature, American literature, African literature, Australian literature, other Commonwealth literatures, English language teaching, linguistics, translation, aesthetics, literary criticism and creative writing as these are major preoccupations of the academia in India.
