BHUBANESWAR: Eminent writer and Orissa Sahitya Akademi president Ramachandra Behera was honoured with the Pandit Godabarish Samman for the year during the 124 {+t} {+h} birth anniversary celebration of legendary Oriya writer and social reformer Pandit Godabarish Mishra at Jayadev Bhawan in the Capital. Governor M.C.Bhandare conferred the honour on Behera on the occasion that coincided with 53 {+r} {+d} Foundation Day celebration of Godabarish Sahitya Samsad that has instituted the annual literary awards in memory of the legend. Odissi Guru Gangadhar Pradhan, who passed away this month, was specially honoured by the Samsad posthumously for his contribution to Orissa's culture. Among others, Harapriya Patnaik and Madhuri Patnaik were awarded for short story while Minati Sadangi and Anjali Tripathy were awarded for poetry. Samsad vice-president Natabara Mohanty and secretary Ramachandra Maikap were present.
