Bangalore: Staff and some students of Holy Cross School in Whitefield have demanded punitive action against a Kannada organisation that allegedly assaulted Vice-Principal Br. Philip Noronha recently.

Some members of the organisation trespassed into the school after two students reportedly complained about Br. Noronha's reported “misbehaviour with girls”, and allegedly assaulted him.

Holy Cross School teachers, along with some students, holding placards in front of the Press Club on Thursday, urged the Home Ministry to take action against the accused.

They alleged Br. Noronha was dragged out of a bus, brought back to the school campus and assaulted in front of TV reporters.

“The incident was an outcome of the interest he had taken in a property litigation,” schoolteachers said.

What transpired between him and the girls was the result of a miscommunication which was blown out of all proportion, they said.
