‘No question of taking rebels back'

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: R. Ashok, Minister for Transport, on Thursday ruled out the possibility of taking back the disqualified MLAs into the party fold.

He said that Bharatiya Janata Party State unit president K.S. Eshwarappa and Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa had made it clear that the suspended MLAs would not be allowed back into the party at any cost.

“The Speaker has suspended them and the case is being heard by the High Court. They deserted the party and joined hands with the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular). Our party does not need them. Even if they go to Delhi and speak to the party leadership, they will not be inducted into the party,” Mr. Ashok said.
