Staff Reporter
CHENNAI: Marking its 17th foundation day, the Rajasthan Cosmo Club Foundation distributed new and recycled clothes to the needy here recently.
Under the Sri Dineshkumar Bhandari New Clothes Scheme, a total of 11,000 sets of new clothes were distributed. Over 54,000 recycled clothes were also distributed. Nearly 30 institutions working for physically and mentally challenged and scores of poor people were the beneficiaries, a press release said.
Mayor M. Subramanian was the chief guest and industrialists Nemichand Kothari and Jawanthraj Bhandari were the guests of honour.
“The Cloth Bank has been receiving support from all quarters and many philanthropists have come forward to help. So far, we have distributed over one lakh new school uniforms,” said Sanjay Bhansali, past managing trustee of the Club.
