KDA chairman quits post
Staff Correspondent
KOLAR: The Bharatiya Janata Party suffered a blow on Wednesday with Munirathnam Naidu, chairman of Kolar Gold Fields Development Authority (KDA), resigning from the post. He quit the party as well.
Mr. Naidu, a supporter of disqualified KGF MLA, Y. Sampangi, was accused of hobnobbing with the Janata Dal (Secular) during recent political crisis. This made the district BJP leaders seek the removal of Mr. Naidu from the post.
During a meeting on Tuesday at Bethamangala, Social Welfare Minister and district in-charge A. Narayanaswamy accused Mr. Naidu and Mr. Sampangi of indulging in “anti-party activities”.
Mr. Naidu did not attend the meeting. Mr. Narayanaswamy and D.S. Veeraiah, MLC, apologised to the people of KGF for the party giving ticket to Mr. Sampangi.
