Delta Airlines flight makes emergency landing

MUMBAI: A Delta Airlines flight carrying 244 passengers from Amsterdam to Mumbai on Thursday night landed in emergency conditions at the airport here after an unidentified object was observed in the plane’s cargo hold.

The plane was being taken to an isolated bay for a thorough search, airport sources here said.

The information about the presence of the unidentified object was given by a Delta staffer in Amsterdam. The emergency for fire and rescue was withdrawn after 28 minutes even as the anti-bomb squad conducted the search, which was on till last reports came in. — PTI
